Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Update!! Had my interview today at New Orleans Office at 10:20. Showed up at the place where the interview was scheduled in Metairie( 2424 Edenborn Ave) 10 mins early just to go up to third floor and see that the offices have been moved to Poydras Ave deep in New Orleans. My wife and I jumped in the truck and "rushed" to the new office. Close to the Superdome oh what a joy traffic was. We made it 10 mins after the official time and checked in. We placed appointment letter at window the guard instructed us to. The IO came out shortly (idk how she knew) however she called my name after 2 mins in waiting room. We went in and were sworn in immediately. Here are interview details:

She double checked my answers on my I-485 application. Asking me full name, DOB, address basically everything on the 485 sheet.
She then if that was my signature on the 485. She did that same thing for the 130 for my wife.
She then asked if we had any more documentation showing mor... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our appointment on Monday, April 27 at 8am. We got there at 7:30, handed in our appointment sheet and were instructed to take a seat. At around 8:15 we were called by the IO.
She asked basic questions about the information we put on the application forms. She then asked how we met, and how did the relationship progress. My husband was going onto details but I stopped him to keep it short. She then asked if we had any document evidence to add to our file, to which we replied with a stack of papers: most recent bank statement, car bill, phone bill & credit card. Since I lived in a different state wile we were engaged, we handed her a bunch of copies of plane tickets.
She took a quick look at photo book I gave my husband for valentine's day a couple of years ago. I also brought a few pictures of our life together after being married. She kept those and gave us the little book back. She asked us if we lived together and we said yes. She asked if we lived with someone... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I came to the US on a student visa, and graduated from college. Shortly before I got on OPT, I met my wife. We got married on November 28, 2014 and filed for AOS on December 7 or so.
To our great surprise, I received my EAD shortly after the usual 3-months timeframe AND our interview was also scheduled on March 30, 2015.

The appointment was at 9:30, in New Orleans LA. There is a parking lot right next to the building (a little expensive, but worth it).
We got through security. The guards were stern and grumpy for a Monday morning I guess. We were told to slip in a tray our appointment schedule letter and take a seat, which we did.
Then the wait started. After an hour, I noticed that a man that came right before us was called in so we were hopeful that our turn would be next. Boy was I wrong! I noticed that a few more couples that came AFTER us were being called in. I voiced my concern to my wife, and a guy sitting next to us overheard us talking. He ... read complete review

Interview was scheduled for 8:30, we arrived at 7:50, went through security and showed the gaurd our interview notice. He instructed us on where to place it. We got called in at 8:40ish and we got in the elevator to leave at 8:58. Hubs was concerned cause some people that came in later than we did had gone in to interview. Our IO called us and walked us in, told us to remain standing while we took the oath.
Next she asked to see ID,then we went over the I-485, my name, address, phone number, yes and no questions. She did the same thing with the I-130. After verifying the information in the forms, she asked if we had a lease, we provided a notarized copy, she asked if we had a copy for our records,we said no, and she said she would make a copy, I thought that was nice, cause I hear some IOs, have you go out of the building to make copies. She asked if we had more recent bills, I provided and told her that I also have our wedding album, she flipped through and I commented. I ... read complete review
